Bird Watching in Tsavo West National Park – Safari Activity
Tsavo West National Park is a haven for bird enthusiasts, boasting over 500 recorded bird species. The park's diverse habitats, including wetlands, woodlands, and rocky areas, create environments for a wide range of species. Tsavo West is particularly renowned for its migratory birds, such as the Amur Falcon, and waterbirds like the Goliath Heron found around Lake Jipe and Mzima Springs. The park is situated along one of the world's busiest avian migration routes and hosts one of Africa's foremost bird-ringing projects. Since 1969, ringing enthusiasts have made a pilgrimage to the park's Ngulia Hills every November, which is when most of the passage migrants pass through.
