History – Prince Albert National Park

Established in the 1920s to conserve regional forest and lake ecosystems and to provide nearby recreational access. Park managers balanced recreation development in Waskesiu with long-term protection of boreal habitats and water quality. Forestry and Indigenous seasonal use predate the park; modern management integrates conservation with visitor services.
