History – Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

The park formed through a cross-border conservation agreement linking South African and Botswana reserves. Officials aimed to allow natural migration across borders and create one of Africa's largest conservation areas. The South African side includes camps and basic infrastructure developed in the 20th century to support low-impact tourism.
