History – Gulf Islands National Park Reserve

Established in 2003, the reserve was created to conserve unique island and marine habitats and protect cultural heritage sites. Parks Canada works alongside local communities to manage recreational access and environmental conservation. Research and monitoring programs ensure healthy marine ecosystems and biodiversity.
